How the matcha travels, from the tea farms of Uji and Mie Prefecture to your bowl in Basel.
Uji & Mie, Japan
Matcha has been part of Japanese drinking culture for over 1,000 years. Our cultivators in Uji and Mie Prefecture send their first harvest directly to the Emperor of Japan, and we buy our matcha powder there directly.
Stone-ground 石臼 ishiusu, the stone mill
Stems and veins removed, the youngest leaves are stone-ground into fine, vibrant ceremonial-grade matcha. No fillers, no additives.
