After the clusterf*ck that hit us the day before, Thursday’s service was surprisingly slow. I was thankful for the respite, as I had other things on my mind. The doctor ended up prescribing an oral antibiotic to get rid of the infection on my hand so I was eager to get home as soon as possible so Honey Bunny and I could go to the 24-hour pharmacy. After pushing through a last-minute 9-top that had arrived just a few minutes before the restaurant closes, I bid my goodbyes and headed out.
I can’t wait for all of these physical ailments to just go away. It feels like my mind wants to keep doing more and trying harder but my body is starting to give up. Hopefully the antibiotics kick in soon and all the thoughts of Kitchen Life being too physically strenuous for female line cooks can disperse. Today will be a better day!
